Mount Meru (4,566m), Tanzania’s second-highest peak, offers an exciting and rewarding trekking experience. Pick up from Arusha in the morning and drive to Momella Gate (1-hour drive).

Meet the trekking team (guide, porters, and armed ranger) and complete registration.

Start trekking through savanna, acacia woodlands, and montane forests, with chances to spot buffalo, giraffes, warthogs, and colobus monkeys.

Stop for lunch at Fig Tree Arch, a natural landmark.

Arrive at Miriakamba Hut (2,514m) in the late afternoon. Rest and enjoy the sunset with views of Kilimanjaro.

Dinner and overnight at Miriakamba Hut.

Breakfast at Miriakamba Hut, followed by a steep ascent through montane forest and giant heather zones.

Reach Mgongo wa Tembo (Elephant Ridge) viewpoint for stunning views of Meru Crater and the Ash Cone.

Lunch at Saddle Hut (3,570m).

In the afternoon, an optional short trek to Little Meru (3,820m) for acclimatization and panoramic views.

Early dinner and rest in preparation for the summit attempt.

Reach Socialist Peak (4,566m) at sunrise, with stunning views of Kilimanjaro, Meru Crater, and the Great Rift Valley.

Take photos, enjoy the moment, then descend back to Saddle Hut for breakfast.

Continue descending to Miriakamba Hut (2,514m) for lunch and an overnight stay.
